Application for Accreditation. Fee: £370

We have recently made significant changes to our accreditation process.

Going forward we foresee accrediting individual courses only.

The reason for this is that the values, professionalism, and reputation of training schools and individual tutors can change over time, sometimes at variance with the high standards and progressive values of the PLTA.

In the future it will be the case that the Course Accreditation Evaluation fee (£370) is for the work done by us to determine whether or not to grant accreditation.

Training courses are rarely static, in fact they ought to be updated where necessary in order to ensure best practice and to improve when better practices and understandings have become available.

In line with the dynamic nature of teaching, accreditation will be for a fixed period (usually one year) and renewable at the end of that period with any changes to the course being submitted at this time – subject to the same standards being met.

Where there is a named period for the accreditation of a course (usually 12 months) the accreditation will be renewed annually with an administration fee (£70) attached as we shall require evidence of adequate insurance.

It is a key part of our new policy that accreditation is a function and office of the PLTA, not the property of a course, school or tutor,  nor of any other person, and therefore accreditation can and will be revoked wherever our standards are not met or wherever the professionalism, ethics, or reputation of the school or individual(s) delivering the training is questionable. Revoking accreditation is not undertaken lightly, and should be a rare occurrence, but it a need presents itself notice will be communicated to the courses creator via email and without reimbursement of the Course Accreditation Evaluation fee since the work of evaluation will already have been completed by the PLTA at this point. Any annual renewal administration fee will also be forfeit the PLTA having completed its administrative role for the allotted period.

All accreditations will bear a seal that shows that the certificate and accreditation is the property of the PLTA and each seal bears a serial number. These are listed on our website. The website will clearly validate or invalidate any certificate for the benefit of end users.

We will need to see copies of all the material associated with your course including details of course structure, prospectus, syllabus, notes and manuals along with details of duration and fees.
